What are varicose veins?

Varicose veins are enlarged, swollen veins that have become dilated because of faulty venous valves. They are usually blue in color and may appear twisted or bulging.

Healthy veins contain valves that open and close to assist in the return flow of blood from the limbs to the heart. When these valves fail to open and close properly, blood can pool in the veins, causing increased pressure. The increase in pressure causes veins to become enlarged.

Our Treatments

Endovenous thermal ablation

Using thermal energy (heat) generated with a laser or radiofrequency energy, we irritate the inside of a vein, causing it to eventually close off. Ablation is less painful than traditional vein surgery and offers a faster recovery.

Microphlebectomy

Varicose veins are removed through small skin punctures or incisions that do not require stitches. This is performed under local anesthesia.

Sclerotherapy

An injection treatment with FDA-approved medication that causes smaller varicose veins or spider veins to collapse and fade away.
